She didn't want to go my mum
Fought it all the way
Her body riddled with disease
But knew it was a cloak anyway.

Sat there all day long praying silently
Not that she would come back to me
But that he'd release her from the pain
And do so gently.

Finally she laid back on the bed
And fitted uncontrollably
I knew then I had to clear my head
And let her soul soar free.

Close your eyes and travel with me
Far above the stars
Close your eyes and you can see
What waits for us afar.

Close your eyes see the kaleidoscope
On the other side
Hold my hand I'll go with you
I'll abide with you awhile.

Feel the love unconditional
What beauty is for real
Know you're going now for good
My resolve turned to steel.

I know it was a forbidden glimpse
Of what mortals shouldn't see
I know I promised I wouldn't cry
But it was easier for me you see.
