I bought this for my one year old instead of a cheapy xylophone that can't be used once she gets older and I love it. The sticks are one piece so no threat of the ball falling off and her choking on it. She bangs the heck out of this thing and it stands up fairly well (She did smash a little bit of its foam deadener, but it still works, hope it won't affect it later). This is a great value. It's incredibly difficult to find a glockenspiel with the sharps and flats that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Unlike a previous reviewer claims, the notes were not off key. Nor did I have to bend the mallets to remove them from the case. The sound quality is good. Compared to anything else I've seen out there (And I've looked at a lot!) this is the best value for the money. I love it's portability. It is well made. My now 20 month old daughter has "beat" on this for almost 4 months and it shows no signs of the abuse. The notes are loud and clear. It's brought a great deal of musical fun and joy to our family.

With the price of tone bells, orff instruments and the like making multiple purchases impractical on most school budgets, this is a godsend. Lovely tone quality, good construction. I bought 5 and will buy 20 more if we can sell enough cookies to raise the funds.

I am using it with my glove puppets...Fun sound in a portable case...Would have prefered brass tip mallets..but that would have caused the cost to go up.
