Editorial Review:

Product Description:
Mackenzie Allen Philips' youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend. Against his better judgment he arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare. What he finds there will change Mack's world forever. In a world where religion seems to grow increasingly irrelevant "The Shack" wrestles with the timeless question, "Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain?" The answers Mack gets will astound you and perhaps transform you as much as it did him. You'll want everyone you know to read this book!

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Simply not consistent with Scripture
Unfortunately, this book is not about bringing people closer to God, because the author creates his own god, one not consistent with God the Father as taught in scripture. However, this type of flagrant disreguard for scripture is consistent with prophecy. People will search for those who teach what they want to hear as society declines. I am quite surprised that so many Christians are embracing this book. I encourage Christain readers to read this book in light of scripture and not compromise ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - One in a million
What an amazing read!!! I think everyone would benefit from reading this book. This must be a story after God's own heart. This story can be life changing.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Outstanding Truths
The fiction in the book is a little farfetched for me, but the revealed truths are outstanding. It challenges you to reach deep into your soul to find meaning and purpose for your life here and forever after. Life is full of choices and this book shares some choices we can choose to follow and they can make all the difference in our life.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - worth your while
Amazing book!! It puts some of the most difficult theological concepts into a beautiful story. There is one statement that many will misinterpret to think that the author is promoting pluralism, but if you listen to Young in an interview you'll know that his doctrine is sound. Beware of this book if you think God will fit into a perfect little box that you are comfortable with.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Thinly disguised religious advertising.
Majority of this book pertains to conversations with God espousing religious principals. this would be fine if the synopsis indicated this as opposed to pretending to be about a kidnapping whici appears to be thinly applied in order to sell the book to a broader marketplace. I found the writing amateurish.
